Artist Statement
The word opposites immediately made me think of extremes. Extremes, although not always good, exist in almost every situation. Theres people that are completely careless, and others who are overdramatic, there’s really bright things, and really dark things, there are people who make others really happy, and people who make others sad. No matter the case, there always seems to be something that is equal and opposite to another thing.
Following this idea, I thought about the two different type of people in this world. There are some individuals who will be in the best situations, yet still focus on the negative or be able to point out the negatives. Others, on the other hand, will be in really bad situations, but will still be able to pick out the positives of said situation. This is what I tried to showcase in my picture by using contrasting colors, and ideas.
